Beneficiaries

Services at the Juneau Family Birth Center are available to all families in Juneau and Southeast Alaska, where ever they choose to give birth or receive healthcare. Our classes, education and support are free and appropriate for all families and geared to meet the individual needs of each family, woman, and child. Healthcare services are offered on a sliding scale and no one will be denied services for inability to pay.

Funding

Total construction and start-up costs were $3.9 million. We currently have a challenge grant from the Kresge Foundation of $325,000 if we raise $450,000. This will allow us to finish our Campaign with no debt. Funders of the project include $550,000 from the Rasmuson Foundation, $450,000 from the State of Alaska, $70,000 from the City & Borough of Juneau, $1,246,756 from the Denali Commission, $50,000 from the Alaska Mental Health Trust, $10,000 from the Skaggs Foundation, $10,000 from the SB Foundation, $297,600 HUD appropriation, $200,000 from the Murdock Charitable Trust, $100,000 from the Paul G. Allen Foundation, $10,000 from the Wells Fargo Foundation, and over $100,000 from local businesses and individuals.
