Description: Formed in 1985, the Juneau Convention and Visitors Bureau (JCVB) is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to economic development in Juneau, Alaska through promoting and marketing Juneau as a year-round visitor destination. The JCVB's primary goal is to increase the overnight stays of business and pleasure travelers who support local businesses through consumer spending and support the city through payment of bed tax. Both the City and Borough of Juneau and the membership of nearly 300 local businesses financially support the JCVB. The JCVB serves the goals of each by marketing Juneau as a destination and helping locally-owned businesses market their services to visitors and potential visitors. Overall, the JCVB seeks to ensure Juneau enjoys a more stable, sustainable, year-round economy.

The Council’s mission, as a public/private partnership, is to foster a healthy and sustainable economic climate in the City and Borough of Juneau and in Southeast Alaska.
