The Juneau Community Foundation is pleased to announce that we and 28 other Juneau-based charities are part of the new PFD On Line Charitable Contributions Program for 2009. The Alaska Legislature passed a law in 2008 making this new way to give possible for all Alaskans filing for their PFD on-line. We are excited about the opportunity that it provides all Alaskans to give to their favorite nonprofit organizations. This program provides a safe, secure and easy way to make a donation.
When you sign up for your Permanent Fund Dividend online from January 1 to March 31 at http://www.pfd.state.ak.us, you will see the option called “The Gift of Giving.” Search for Juneau charities by choosing Judicial District 1. Click and follow the instructions to make a donation. You may elect multiple organizations with varying levels of support, up to the full value of your dividend. Please take the extra step you will see after you make your donation to also provide your contact information. Charities want to acknowledge and recognize your generous support, and this is the only way they will know it’s you making the gift.
