The 2026 Book Hook Fund Library Grant application is open now and will close on October 31.
The Book Hook Fund is a donor-advised fund founded by an investor in Alaskan Brewing Co. who spent much of his younger years in libraries. He created this Fund in 2020 with a focus on grants for libraries in small rural Alaska communities. From Southeast Alaska to Nome, the Book Hook Fund has provided $36,400 in funds to over thirty rural Alaskan libraries. Grants up to $1,000 are awarded for library materials: books, periodicals, and software that will be circulated or made available to the public. This does not include consumables or prizes for library programs. The grant is not for hardware, salaries, utilities, or supplies. Applications will be accepted until October 31st. Awardees will be announced in mid-November 2026.
