The Foundation’s Book Hook Fund provides grants for libraries in small rural Alaska communities (5,000 or less people). From Southeast Alaska to Nome, the Book Hook Fund has provided over $36,400 in grants to over thirty rural Alaskan libraries. Grants can be used to purchase materials for the public including books and periodicals, or software. Awards ranged from $500-$1000.
